Alex is a Licentiate Member of the RTPI, currently working towards becoming fully chartered. Having graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Exeter, Alex joined Waverley Borough Council, in Surrey, as a Planning Officer within the Development Management team. In rising to Senior Planning Officer within two years, Alex dealt with a range of complex planning applications as the case officer, including residential schemes, agricultural development, Certificate of Lawfulness applications and Prior Approvals, among others. In managing these applications, Alex often presented at planning committees, defended decisions at appeal and has acted as an expert witness at Informal Hearings. Alex graduated with a Distinction in a Masters qualification in Planning, Policy and Practice from London South Bank University in 2020.
Alex is a confident communicator and works closely with the Planning Manager, Development Team, Directors and external consultants to provide bespoke planning advice on site constraints and development opportunities. He is passionate about the transition to a Net Zero carbon economy and is driven to ensure Arlington can continue securing planning consents and keep them at the forefront of the flexible generation sector.
