The candidate will initially join the development team, but will be working closely with planning, commercial and construction teams. The development team work dynamically to source new sites, reviewing grid capacity maps and undertaking preliminary land reviews. The candidate will be involved in this site selection, discussing capacity with network operators to identify areas of opportunity and constraint. They will be exposed to transactions on external acquisition sites, managing data rooms shared with investors and technical consultants, communicating information effectively to ensure fully transparent and successful transactions.
While managing new site potentials, the candidate will be helping to actively develop the substantial inhouse pipeline, readying the portfolio for handover to the construction team. Liaison with wider teams is essential to ensure that sites are developed with the end goal of optimal long-term operational trading from the outset.
As the UK energy sector transitions towards net zero, technology innovations and policy changes are a constant inconstant. The candidate will be encouraged to research their interests within the sector, presenting new perspectives to help drive forward the transition to clean energy.
Duties and responsibilities will be subject to experience and interest, and Arlington will provide support to the candidate to ensure they are appropriately challenged by their work to allow them to reach their full potential. The candidate should demonstrate strong organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure, working to deadlines in an adaptable environment.
Ideally, the candidate will be available to start as soon as possible. However, this can be flexible for the right candidate. The candidate will be expected to attend the London office at least 4 days a week during the probationary period. All equipment required to work remotely will be provided, and the candidate will be able to choose to work remotely up to 3 days a week once probationary period is passed.
